About Me
Hello and welcome!

I hold a Master’s in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Biology from the University of Maryland. My academic journey has given me extensive experience in the sciences—from organic and inorganic chemistry to physics, immunology, genetic engineering, physiology, and anatomy. My goal is to share this passion for learning with every student I work with. My most recent teaching experience was as a Science teacher for grade 7 kids at Thomas Pyle Middle School between 2019 and 2024. During that time, I also created a curriculum for and taught a class combining Science with Art. Prior to that, I spent 5 years teaching 3rd and 5th grade students at Goshen Elementary school.

The testimonials section is of testimonials from students of mine and parents of my students at Thomas Pyle Middle School.

With a strong foundation in child psychology and neurodivergence, I understand and celebrate the unique developmental milestones of adolescents and teens. I believe in creating an inclusive, supportive environment where every learner feels valued, and every learner type can be taught effectively.

My Teaching Philosophy
Research on the benefits of a Growth Mindset has shaped my approach to education. I emphasize the importance of non-cognitive skills—grit, perseverance, and resilience—because success isn’t just about knowledge; it’s about the ability to thrive through challenges.

Creativity Meets Education
As an artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Corcoran College of Arts and Design, as part of ensuring that every learner type can be taught effectively, I bring creativity into the classroom or tutoring session for learners who benefit from that. I also use these skills to design engaging study materials, incorporating illustrations and visual organization to help students retain information and make meaningful connections. Hands-on experiences for students are central to my teaching because they create lasting memories and deeper understanding.

Beyond the Classroom
I’m also a parent, so I understand the unexpected challenges families face. For me, a child’s health and well-being always come first. Together, we’ll celebrate growth, curiosity, and the discovery of “self” as students navigate their educational journey.
